Multifunctional sports hall in Zakopane awarded the title Construction of the Year 2016!
Polish Construction Engineers’ and Technicians’ Association has been rewarding construction works in Poland with the title Construction of the Year for 27 years now. It is the most prestigious overview of achievements in the Polish construction. In the 27th edition, which was held with the participation of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction and Main Construction Supervision Office, 39 facilities were rewarded. Multifunctional sports hall in Zakopane constructed by Mostostal Warszawa received the title of Construction of the Year and the first-degree award in the category sports facilities. The award ceremony was held on June 27, 2017, at the Building of the Polish Federation of Engineering Associations (NOT) in Warsaw. A statuette and a diploma received Janusz Stanaszek, Director of Southern Division Mostostal Warszawa.
‘Sports hall in Zakopane is the highest situated sports facility in Poland. It forms part of the local sports centre COS Olympic Preparation Centre in Zakopane. The new facility offers, e.g. full-size court for handball and other team sports. Athletes have access to the modern services. Interestingly, it includes training facilities for practising professional sports such as wrestling and judo. The centre is adjacent to a modern boarding house that Mostostal Warszawa modernise a few years back. It is worth highlighting that the centre has been awarded the certificate for the Małopolska Centre for Energy Efficient Construction from the Kraków University of Technology. The centre is heated by solar energy as well as ground heat’ says Janusz Stanaszek, Director of Southern Division Mostostal Warszawa.
